Key Stage 1 AUTUMN 2008 WELCOME BACK!!! We had a busy summer, arranging for some lovely new outdoor play equipment, which is now in place ~ the HUGE sandpit is a particular success! The awning which covers the sandpit means that the children can play outside in rain or sun. The youngest children have also benefitted from some new waterproof playsuits, to allow them to access the 50% outdoor play requirement of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Summer seems such a long time ago now, and the children are certainly settled in their new classes! Infant Classes this term are ~ Class 6 Mrs Pattle Years 2 and 3 Class 7 Mr Allender Years 1 and 2 Class 8 Mrs Cumming Years 1 and 2 Class 9 Mrs Locke Foundation and Year 1 Class 10 Mrs Kendell Foundation TOPICS THIS TERM Classes 6, 7 and 8 are thinking about Celebrations this term. Class 9 and 10 are thinking about Celebrations and the Harvest. They have been visiting Cornish Farm Produce and Couch's Fishmongers in Fore Street, and are setting up their on 'Fruit and Veg Shop' role play area in the Rotary Garden. They are hoping to visit Pennywell Farm during December, to take part in the Nativity Play. |
